No man is an island

“No man is an island,
Entire of itself;
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.” John Donne

Managing a team or directing a diverse group of individuals on the same course,
towards the same goals,
with a collective vision,
during a time of isolation,
has been one of the most challenging changes that this era presented to the business world.

Organisations quickly made adjustments to well-worn processes and a year later these are implemented proficiently; but a new disconnect is emerging.
Platforms popped up everywhere to ease adjustments while our online presence tripled in capacity. Once blossoming brand identities and professional relationships are now covered in winter beanies, static work photos and virtualised environments to cover-up our real life backgrounds. Very few teams have the privilege of water-cooler catch ups or their tea-time support.

An organisation is run by the individuals who form the team and it is time to take a moment to check in with these islands. The work-life balance must be updated, work relationships need to be re-established and the concept of networking skills must shift with the new needs.
No man is an island, and while working from home, in solitude, we should not neglect the need for social interaction, for meaningful conversation, and the empathetic approach to being human.
We offer support and coaching for the individual, the leader, and the organisation or team adapting in this new environment.
