Steph Dawson-Cosser is a credentialled member of COMENSA (Coaching and Mentoring South Africa) at Master Level, Time to Think Collegiate and a member of SJAM (Social Justice Association of Mediators). Completed over 2780 hours of coaching hours with over 410 hours of mediation. She has completed various coaching, mediation and leadership development certified courses since her early career in child and family care.
In her private practice, since 2014, she seeks to deal with changes in the circumstances for individuals and couples who want to learn more about personal development, parenting skills and their relationships. She works with couples and families in high conflict, through teaching communication skills and self-regulation tools, she assists clients to reach resolution, and build healthy relationships with themselves and each other. She has in excess of 2500 hours of coaching experience. Steph qualified as a divorce and family mediator in 2016. She has mediated many couples to un-couple in a respectful and amicable manner enabling the parties to make life-changing decisions in the best interests of their children, even in the most challenging of circumstances. Supporting parents to conclude a cost-effective divorce with a practical parenting plan, maintenance agreement and an MOU all prepared for the parties to take to their attorney to draft the Settlement Agreement to finalise the divorce. In her corporate practice, Steph’s team coaching experience spans working to build and sustain collaborative and committed teams with companies, schools and community leaders from different backgrounds. With the impact of COVID, tension in the workplace has noticeably increased in many organisations. Steph has been requested to mediate workplace relationship disputes with great success. From 2019 she was invited to become an affiliate at Duke Corporate Education specifically to teach accredited programmes of the Thinking Environment®️. Steph has worked with leading South African companies and one of her recent tasks was to train the senior management of a leading oil marketing organisation to provide practical advice for employees engaged in company restructuring. She has coached C-suite members at Sybrin, Exxaro and Siemens. Other companies she has worked with include Momentum Asset Management (MMI). IBM, Barclays Africa (now ABSA), Netsurit, ABSA Capital, EY, Internet Solutions, and PwC. Stephanie was a regular guest on the morning 702 radio program of Eusebius Mckaiser to discuss ‘ Family Matters’ and is a frequent contributor to articles on work and life-related topics in the Sunday Times and other publications.
